About the BandThe SHINBONE ALLEY STILT BAND was born in 1993 and has been bringing its swinging jazz to audiences around the world ever since!
A dynamic ensemble of musicians who parade, dance on stilts and perform various feats of physical and musical dexterity, the 5-7 member ensemble includes saxophones, trumpets, and drums with an occasional trombone, tuba, banjo, or clarinet. The Music: Our repertoire includes Dixieland, Swing and Rock, such as Saints, Circus Tune, Sing Sing Sing, Tarantella, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Caravan, Wipe Out and Tequila! For the Holidays we play all the season classics, old and new – often spicing them up with our irresistible Dixie beat. Special theme requests - Just ask! The Look: For formal affairs, the Stilt Band has an elegant look of black and white top hat and tails. For more festive events, we have Mardi Gras/Carnival attire with colorful costumes and masks. For the Holiday Season, we dress to match the festivities. The Band has appeared in festivals across Europe, China, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Israel, and across the USA. We perform at community and corporate events, trade shows, family day picnics, wherever joy, music and dancing is welcome!. Bring the Band to your next event! The show can be mobile or stationary and performed both indoors and outdoors. |
